The birds have been trying to devour whatever ripens. A tomato turns from a lightish green to showing the smallest amount of pink and “Bam” is has a hole pecked in it, A pepper goes from green to a yellowy off-green and again the birds strike. We have started with a small grow tent and some shade cloth until we get moving with the hoop house. The unusual high temeratures have caused some burning in the tent but a layer or two of shadecloth should have this under control.
The addition of a cover over the worms to keep the heat off the nearest bins is helping but the downside is it seems to attract ants. Next step to place the table legs in tins of water? Hope that solves the problem.
